左行秀
Description
A swordsmith of the Tosa domain and a master of the shinshintō period in the late Edo era. Based on the Bizen tradition and incorporating the Sōshū tradition, he was known for a long, imposing style. His blades are noted for ji-nie and bright steel, and for a beautiful finish of hiro-suguha accented by kinsuji and sunagashi. He is known as a swordsmith of the Tosa domain. (It is also said that, because he informed on Inui Taisuke (later Itagaki Taisuke) for concealing rōnin from Mito and planning an uprising, he was later shunned by pro-imperial (loyalist) activists.)
