介紹
島津久光為幕末薩摩藩主島津忠義（茂久）之父。1817年生，1887年卒。
生麥事件
文久二年（1862年）8月21日，薩摩藩主之父島津久光的行列正通過生麥村時，混入行列的4名騎馬外國人中，英國商人理查德遜遭護衛武士斬殺。該事件因賠償問題而發展為薩英戰爭。
