Oda Nobutomo

Oda Nobutomo (1534-1555) was a Sengoku-period warlord who served as deputy protector (shugodai) of Owari's lower four counties (下四郡) and was lord of Kiyosu Castle, though real power lay with his retainers Sakai Daizen and Kawajiri Samanojō. His position weakened after Sakai Daizen's forces were defeated by Oda Nobunaga at the Battle of Kayazu in 1552, and further after Nobutomo's faction killed the nominal Owari governor Shiba Yoshimune in 1554. In 1555, Nobunaga's uncle Oda Nobumitsu tricked his way into Kiyosu Castle and had Nobutomo killed, delivering the castle to Nobunaga.
