Oda Nobutaka

Oda Nobutaka (1558-1583) was the third son of Oda Nobunaga, adopted in 1568 into the Kanbe clan of Ise Province as heir to Kanbe Tomomori, becoming Kanbe Nobutaka. After the Honnō-ji Incident, he received Mino Province and Gifu Castle at the Kiyosu Conference. He served as guardian of his nephew Oda Sampōshi. After his side was defeated by Toyotomi Hideyoshi at the Battle of Shizugatake, Nobutaka surrendered Gifu Castle and was ultimately forced to commit suicide in 1583 at Daimidō-ji in Noma, Owari Province, on the order of his brother Oda Nobukatsu.
