Overview
Yaiba: Samurai Legend is a television anime adaptation of YAIBA, the swordplay gag-action manga created by Gosho Aoyama (better known as the creator of Detective Conan), which ran in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday from 1988 to 1993 and won the Shogakukan Manga Award. It is the second anime adaptation of the manga, arriving roughly three decades after the original 1993 TV series. The new series was produced by Wit Studio.

The anime premiered on 5 April 2025 across NNS affiliate stations including Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV, airing weekly in the Saturday 5:30 PM slot.
Story
The protagonist, Tetsuba "Yaiba" Kurogane, was raised in the jungle and trained in swordsmanship by his late samurai father. Dreaming of becoming a true samurai, he returns to Japan and moves in with the Mine family, who share a bond with his late father. His encounter with the family's daughter, Sayaka Mine, sets his turbulent story in motion.
