It was released on 12 November 2002 in North America, 5 December 2002 in Japan, and in May 2003 in Europe. It began as a Dreamcast project and moved to the PS2 after that console was discontinued.
Story
The protagonist, Hotsuma, is the leader of the Oboro ninja clan. He seeks to avenge his clan by defeating the sorcerer Hiruko.
Akujiki
Hotsuma's main weapon is Akujiki, a sword that devours souls. It absorbs the souls of defeated enemies, and if he goes too long without defeating any, it begins to drain Hotsuma's own soul.
The "TATE" Attack
Defeating four or more enemies in quick succession triggers the "TATE" attack, which releases more souls to feed the sword.
