Swords
Yoh Asakura's guardian spirit Amidamaru is a samurai from roughly 600 years earlier and a master swordsman who developed his own style. His beloved sword is Harusame, reconstructed with the help of the spirit of the blacksmith Mosuke. The sword is a fictional creation, and no correspondence to a specific real-world blade has been confirmed.
Significance
By depicting the bond between spirit and sword, the series carries the Japanese notion of a warrior's soul dwelling in his blade into the shonen genre.
