Overview
Hokuto no Ken -FIST OF THE NORTH STAR- is a brand-new TV anime based on the legendary martial arts manga Fist of the North Star by Buronson and Tetsuo Hara. Broadcasting began on Friday, April 10, 2026, on Tokyo MX and BS11, with worldwide exclusive streaming on Prime Video starting at the same time. Animation is produced by TMS Entertainment. The first broadcast features Episodes 1 and 2 in a special broadcast schedule.
Story and Themes
The story is set on a future Earth devastated by nuclear war. The protagonist, Kenshiro, is the 64th successor to the secret fist art Hokuto Shinken, and he survives a world full of violence and ambition. Hokuto Shinken is an ultimate assassination art that manipulates the body by striking the opponent's secret pressure points (keiraku hikō), and it is said that once mastered, no one can stand against its user. However, Kenshiro, who is compassionate, uses this ultimate power to protect the weak. The worldview of the original work, which is violent yet has philosophical depth, merges with new animation techniques.
