Oda Nobutaka

Oda Nobutaka (1558-1583) was the third son of Oda Nobunaga, initially adopted into the Kanbe clan as Kanbe Nobutaka. After the Honnō-ji Incident, he received Mino Province and Gifu Castle at the Kiyosu Conference. He served as guardian of his nephew Oda Sampōshi. His resistance to Toyotomi Hideyoshi at the Battle of Shizugatake ultimately failed, leading to his siege and suicide at Gifu Castle in 1583. He was known for his deep Christian faith and understanding of Western religion.
