作品概要
《頑皮！刀劍亂舞》是DMM GAMES與Nitroplus聯合開發的線上遊戲《刀劍亂舞ONLINE》（2015年服務開始）的衍生動畫。通過與三麗鷗的聯動合作，2026年製作宣布。如標題「頑皮」（精力充沛、調皮）所示，以搞笑親近感為特徵的衍生作品。
刀劍亂舞系列
《刀劍亂舞ONLINE》是以日本歷史上實在著名刀劍擬人化的角色「刀劍男士」為主角的瀏覽器和智能手機遊戲。登場的有三日月宗近、山姥切國廣、童子切安綱、膝丸、鬚切、數珠丸恆次等國寶和重要文化財級別的名刀，通過遊戲讓玩家自然地學習實刀的歷史、來歷和銘刀特徵的機制受到好評。通過動畫、舞台、音樂劇等多媒體展開，已成長為日本最大級別的刀劍文化普及內容。
文化影響

Mikazuki Munechika
A tachi attributed to the Heian-period smith Sanjo Munechika. Named for the crescent-moon (mikazuki) patterns in its temper line. One of the Tenka-Goken (Five Greatest Swords) and praised as the most beautiful. National Treasure, held at the Tokyo National Museum, and an iconic character in Touken Ranbu.
Yamanbagiri Kunihiro
A work by the Azuchi-Momoyama-period smith Horikawa Kunihiro, made as a faithful copy of the famed blade Honsaku Chogi for the Nagao clan. Tied to a legend of slaying a mountain hag (yamanba). A representative work of Kunihiro, designated an Important Cultural Property.
Dojigiri Yasutsuna
A tachi attributed to the Heian-period Hoki smith Ohara Yasutsuna. Tied to the legend of Minamoto no Yorimitsu slaying the demon Shuten-doji of Mt. Oe. One of the Tenka-Goken and regarded as the finest of named swords. National Treasure, Tokyo National Museum.
Higekiri
A heirloom tachi of the Minamoto clan, said to be named because it cut a criminal clean through to the beard. Bears many alternate names such as Onimaru and Kumokiri, paired with Hizamaru as a treasured Minamoto sword.
Hizamaru
A heirloom tachi of the Minamoto clan, said to be named because it cut a criminal through to the knees. Known by alternate names such as Usumidori and Kumokiri, it forms a brother pair with Higekiri.
Juzumaru Tsunetsugu
A tachi attributed to Aoe Tsunetsugu. Said to be the personal sword of the priest Nichiren, named for the prayer beads (juzu) hung on its hilt. One of the Tenka-Goken, held at Honko-ji temple in Amagasaki.
