Okudaira Nobumasai

Okudaira Nobumasai (1555-1615) was a Sengoku-Edo period daimyo who became son-in-law of Tokugawa Ieyasu through marriage to his eldest daughter. He earned Oda Nobunaga's respect at the Siege of Nagashino Castle in 1575, where he led steadfast resistance against Takeda forces. Ieyasu rewarded him with the renowned blade "Daihanyā Nagamitsu." He served as Kyoto's first commissioner (bugyō) and governed domains worth up to 100,000 koku.
